P.A.S.®, Active Safety Supervision
At major construction, industrial and Oil & Gas sites, maintenance shutdowns often involve multiple contractors working simultaneously, changing normal operating conditions. Interface issues, anomalies and unsafe behaviours can arise, requiring active supervision and timely intervention.
E.G.C. provides P.A.S.®, Active Safety Supervision, a service delivered by specialised teams supporting the client’s HSE system in the prevention and management of high-risk activities, particularly during critical operations.
Work in designated areas is monitored, and any issues are managed in consultation with the client. Depending on severity, the response may include coaching, reporting, direct corrective action or suspension of activities.
Following each intervention, the RSPP, CSE and HSE teams receive an updated overview of findings, including detailed information, assigned priorities, communications with relevant contacts, recommended corrective actions and deadlines, current status and follow-up checks. This enables prompt implementation of measures to restore safe conditions.
All observations are recorded in a centralised database, allowing incidents to be analysed and trends identified by activity type, risk and severity.
Unresolved issues can expose workers to incidents and sites to damage, work stoppages, delays and reinstatement costs. Supervision is the first step; reporting, corrective actions and verification then strengthen the overall safety management system.
P.A.S.® gives clients the tools to define targeted actions and campaigns that can be implemented at different levels of the organisation.
P.A.S.® can be integrated with industrial rescue services provided by STS Rescue Teams.
